What We Need:

The position of Kitchen Manager requires a passion for food and commitment for delivering the highest standards of food quality on a consistent basis. As a Kitchen Manager, you will work alongside your team, always ready to rise to the challenge. You will manage a small yet skilled kitchen team with pride and passion, oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including ordering, stock control, waste management, labour control and recruitment and training of the kitchen team.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, kitchen porters, and other kitchen staff.
  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring dishes are cooked to perfection and plated attractively.
  • Monitor food production and cooking processes to maintain consistency and timely service during peak hours.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance on culinary techniques and best practices.
  • Manage inventory and food cost to ensure budgetary goals are met while maintaining quality.
  • Collaborate with the head chef or executive chef to plan and execute menus, specials, and promotions.
  • Monitor and enforce food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Handle any kitchen-related issues or emergencies that may arise during shifts.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure kitchen equipment is in good working condition; report any maintenance needs to management.
  • Foster a positive and productive working environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.


Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a kitchen manager or in a similar leadership role, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Exceptional culinary skills and in-depth knowledge of various cooking methods and ingredients.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate kitchen staff effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and safe food handling practices.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving abilities and time management skills.
  • Creativity and a passion for food, demonstrated through the ability to contribute to menu development.
  • Effective time management skills for handling a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability to handle changing priorities and challenges.
